FAQ - Tanning
How long does a sunless tan last?
A sunless tan will last between 7 to 10 days if maintained properly. We recommend you exfoliate thoroughly with our Australian Pink Salt Natural Body Scrub before your tan, then moisturise daily with our Australian Superberry Body Custard daily for a longer lasting tan.
How to remove fake tan?
To ensure your old tan is removed entirely, we recommend you use our Australian Pink Salt Natural Body Scrub all over your body with an exfoliating mitt. You are now ready for a fresh new tan.
What should I do to prolong my tan?
Ensure that you exfoliate properly then maintain the tan by moisturising daily. Drink plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated. You should expect 7-10 days from a sunless tan when maintained properly.
Can I shave or wax before or after the tan application?
The accepted wisdom on this is that you should not shave or wax 24 hours or less before a tan. But what's the point of having a lovely tan, but being hairy? We have never followed this advice, we always shave or wax before a tan and have never had any problems. Indeed, it is better for the tan to be applied to nice smooth skin. So there.
As for after, you can shave afterwards (carefully!) but please leave waxing until your tan has faded.
Can pregnant or breastfeeding women use sunless tan?
Testing has shown that DHA does not penetrate the skin, nor enter the blood stream, therefore, it is considered safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women. But as always, we advise you to contact your medical practitioner if you have any concerns.
How often should I moisturise after using sunless tan?
The more the better! We advise moisturising with our Australian Superberry Body Custard once or twice a day. This will help your tan to fade evenly while keeping the skin well nourished.
After using sunless tan, do I still need to wear sunscreen?
Yes! Tanning solution does not contain sunscreen.
I frequently go swimming, will this affect my tan?
Yes, swimming in chlorine water or salt water will cause the tan to fade slightly.
